Using Headings, Footings, Titles, and Labels

Topics:

After you have designed a report with the desired data, you can make it more meaningful by adding components such as headings, footings, titles, and labels. Headings and footings supply key information about a report, such as its purpose and audience. They also provide structure, helping the user navigate to the detail sought. Titles and labels identify individual pieces of data, ensuring correct interpretation.

Together or singly, these components supply context for data. They also enhance the visual appeal of a report and communicate a sense of completeness.
