The Database Monitor/Govern Maintenance option provides information about the monitored databases and allows you to change the monitor status, associate a rule file with a monitored database and turn on or off governing. You can associate a rule file that contains data rules for that database, or a rule file that contains only Custom rules, which is therefore database independent and can be assigned to any database. |
How to: Select a Rule File for a Database |
You can change the monitoring status at any time, but before you can turn governing on, you must create a rule file and associate it with a database. For more information on building rules, see Governing.
Select the Database Monitor/Govern maintenance option in the Database control menu and press Enter. The following screen opens:
Before you can turn on monitoring for a database, you must associate a rule file with the database. You can associate a rule file that contains data rules for that database, or a rule file that contains only Custom rules, which is therefore database independent and can be assigned to any database.
Once you have assigned a rule file to a database, you can begin to govern the requests submitted against it.
