Accessing the Graph Tools from WebFOCUS Environments

Reference:

WebFOCUS and Developer Studio offer a range of reporting tools that allow you to create reports that deliver critical information to your users. By selecting a tool that is well suited to your particular needs, you can design the information you deliver to users. One effective option with almost any type of data is a graphical presentation. The graph tools can be accessed in multiple ways from several WebFOCUS environments, including Managed Reporting and Developer Studio.

The available graph tools and WebFOCUS environments are:

The following table shows how to access the graph tools from different WebFOCUS environments.

WebFOCUS environment:

Graph tools accessible from:

In Managed Reporting:

  • Through Business Intelligence Dashboard.
  • During the creation of a new Standard Report.
  • When a graph is selected during the creation of a Reporting Object.
  • When editing a Reporting Object within Domains.
  • When editing a My Report within Domains.
  • Managed Reporting Domain Builder.
  • Managed Reporting Standard Reports in Developer Studio.
  • Procedures in a Developer Studio local environment.
  • Procedure Viewer in Developer Studio.
  • Procedure in a Developer Studio remote environment.
  • QuickLinks in Developer Studio.
  • A Standard Reports graph previously created with the Graph Assistant.

In the Developer Studio:

  • The Projects and Data Servers area, and while performing development using Managed Reporting (MR) in the Standard Reports area.

While using MR to create Reporting Objects for MR users, the Graph Assistant is available. This enables MR users to use the graphs created by Administrators and open them to make changes through the Graph Assistant, which is also available from the browser editions of WebFOCUS.

Note about Graph Assistant: All of the windows of the Graph Assistant when accessed by Developer Studio and in Managed Reporting are the same, except there is no Join Options tab. To create Joins in Developer Studio, you must open a Reporting Object and then select the Join tool from there. The Graph Assistant windows in Developer Studio are slightly different than the Managed Reporting Graph Assistant.

The Graph Assistant windows in Developer Studio are slightly different than the Managed Reporting Graph Assistant. These differences are noted throughout this manual.
