Report Library Settings in the Applet

In this section:

The Library tab in the ReportCaster Server Configuration tool contains the following Report Library settings:

Setting

> Watch List

Email From

Optional.

Name of either the person, department, group, and so on, that is sending the Watch List e‑mail notification. This notification informs the recipient that a new version of a report on the Watch List has been sent to the library. The notification includes the report job description and a link to the report.

Email Message

Optional.

The message in the body of the Watch List notification e‑mail.

Email Reply Address

Optional.

The e‑mail address that will receive any reply responses from the Watch List notification e‑mail.

Email Subject

Optional.

The text that will appear in the Watch List notification e‑mail subject line.

Notify Mode

Optional.

The default value is Watch e-mail only.

If the report schedule is set to send an e‑mail notification when the report is saved to the library and the report is subscribed to the Watch List, then:

  • Watch List Notification Only. You will only receive the Watch List notification e‑mail.
  • Watch List and Schedule Notification. You will receive both the schedule library notification e‑mail and the Watch List notification e‑mail.

Compression

Default is NO.

YES - ReportCaster will compress files stored in the Report Library.

NO - ReportCaster will not compress files stored in the Report Library.

Note: You can override this setting when you create the schedule in the ReportCaster Development and Administration Interface, using the compression option located under the Library Distribution tab.

Default Library URL for Email Notification

Required.

Specified during the ReportCaster Distribution Server installation.

Default value is http://hostname:port/rcaster/ library/libreport.jsp (where hostname is the host name of the ReportCaster Web application. Specify the port only if it is not the default value of 80).

URL included in the e‑mail notification that enables you to access specific content in the Report Library.

This is the Library URL value in the Email for Library dialog box, accessed from the Schedule Distribution tab, Email Options.

Note: If this field is blank, then no report ID or burst values are sent with the e‑mail notification.

Install

Required.

Indicates whether (YES) or not (NO) the Report Library product is configured for use with ReportCaster.

Library Distribution Options

Required.

Provide the ability to suppress the Access Options and/or Email for Library option that appear in ReportCaster when distributing scheduled output to the Report Library.

Send Report ID and Version with Notification Email

Required.

YES - report ID and burst values are sent with the e‑mail notification of the distribution.

NO - report ID and burst values are not sent with the e‑mail notification of the distribution.

Suppressing Library Distribution Options in the Applet

How to:

The ReportCaster Server Configuration tool Library Distribution Options enable you to suppress the Access Options and the Email for Library option available in ReportCaster when distributing scheduled output to the Report Library.

Note: This setting replaces the frontend.cfg settings used in Version 7 Release 1.3. The frontend.cfg file is no longer used as of Version 7 Release 6.

The following image shows the ReportCaster Scheduler Distribution tab with Library distribution selected, and the Email for Library and Access Options selections available to a user. These options also apply to the Distribution window of the ReportCaster Scheduling Wizard.

Procedure: How to Suppress Library Distribution Options in the Applet
  1. In the ReportCaster Server Configuration tool, click the Library tab.

    Note: The Library Distribution Options field shows the current settings.

  2. Select the icon library distribution options to the right of the Library Distribution Options setting. The ReportCaster Library Distribution Options dialog box opens, as shown in the following image.

  3. Select settings for Library Email and Library Access.

    The following Library Distribution Options are available:

    Library Email. Limits to whom the Email for Library option is available in the Scheduler Distribution tab. Available options are:

    • On. Email for Library option is available for all Access Options (Owner, Public, Access List). On is the default value.
    • Off. Email for Library option is removed for all Access Options.
    • Owner. Email for Library option is available only when the Owner Access Option is selected.
    • Owner & Access List. Email for Library option is available only when the Owner or Access List Access Option is selected.
    • Owner & Public. Email for Library option is available only when the Owner or Public Option is selected.

    Library Access. Limits the Access Options that appear in the Scheduler Distribution tab. Available options are:

    • All. All Access Options (Owner, Public, Access List) appear. All is the default value.
    • Owner. Only the Owner option appears.
    • Owner & Access List. Only the Owner and Access List option appears.
    • Owner & Public. Only the Owner & Public option appears.
  4. Click OK to save the changes and exit the ReportCaster Library Distribution Options dialog box. You can also click Cancel to cancel the changes and exit the dialog box.


Example: Suppressing Library Access Options

The following image shows the Distribution tab of the ReportCaster Scheduler when Library Access is set to Owner in the Library Distribution Options dialog box. The Public and Access List options are suppressed, therefore, only the Owner option appears under the available Access Options.
