The following section describes how to access the TIBCO PortalBuilder Administration Tool, which will allow you to publish WebFOCUS Categories. The PortalBuilder must be hosted on a system that has a fully qualified machine name.

Procedure: How to Access the TIBCO PortalBuilder Administration Tool

Perform the following steps to access the TIBCO PortalBuilder Administration Tool.

  1. Open your Web browser.
  2. Type the URL of the server where the TIBCO PortalBuilder Administration Tool is being hosted in the Address field and press Enter.

    For example, the URL can resemble the following

    http://servername:port/portal_admin

    where:

    servername

    Is the server name or IP address where the TIBCO PortalBuilder is installed.

    port

    Is the port number that the server monitors.

    The Portal Admin Login page opens.

  3. Type a valid user name and password in the appropriate fields and click Login.

    The PortalBuilder Administrator Tool opens.

    If you are logged into the PortalBuilder Administrator Tool with administrative privileges, you can now publish Categories, modify all aspects of their layout, and set user privileges.

Once you have accessed the TIBCO PortalBuilder Administrator Tool, you can add your WebFOCUS Categories.

Procedure: How to Add WebFOCUS Categories

Perform the following steps to add WebFOCUS Categories using the PortalBuilder Administrator Tool.

  1. From the list of Category groups that appear, select a group where you want to add your WebFOCUS Categories (for example, IBI).

  2. Click New Category.

    The New Category dialog box opens.

  3. Select Passthrough HTML from the list of Category types.
  4. Click OK.

    The General Settings page for the New Category configuration opens.

  5. Type a name and a brief description (optional) of the WebFOCUS Category (for example, Domain).
  6. Click Passthrough Source from the list of Category configuration links in the left pane.

  7. Enter the URL of the WebFOCUS Category you want to add in the Source URL field. For example 
    http://machine_name:port/ibi_apps/components/woas/governor

    where:

    machine_name

    Is a fully qualified machine name where WebFOCUS is installed.

    port

    Is the port where the machine listens.

    category

    Is the name of the WebFOCUS Category you are adding.

    The following table lists all the available WebFOCUS Categories and their corresponding Source URIs.

    You can now add your WebFOCUS Categories to your TIBCO Portal Pages.

  1. Log on to the TIBCO PortalBuilder Administration Tool.
  2. Click customize link.

    The Customize Categories page opens.

  3. Place the WebFOCUS Categories to their respective panes.
  4. Click Save.
