The WebFOCUS GIS Adapter defines a default symbol definition to be used for rendering additional features on the map.
When the XML definition file is created, a symbol identified as defaultOther is created. The other attribute is set to true for this polygon symbol type. When a polygon map layer is drawn, any feature not specified in the XML stream will be rendered using the defaultOther symbol.
If you want to use your own symbol definition for additional features on the map, you specify that in the OUTBOUND, LAYER tag of a map procedure.
Choose the symbol definition name you would like to use from the Other Symbol Id drop-down list.
When the map procedure is executed, any features on the map that are not specified in the XML stream will be rendered using the Other Symbol Id.
