WebFOCUS Script and Configuration Files

WebFOCUS uses configuration files and script files in processing a request. The WebFOCUS Client uses the variable values set in these files for local processing and for processing requests.

For each type of request, the files are processed in a specific order. Each file can modify the variable values in the WebFOCUS variable table.

The WebFOCUS Client installation creates configuration files, several of which contain settings that you can use to customize WebFOCUS for your environment. The starting point for locating client configuration files is defined in the WebFOCUS configuration file named ibiweb.cfg.

To process a request, the WebFOCUS Client must first locate the ibiweb.cfg file. If the client path is WFServlet, the webfocus_client_root parameter of the WebFOCUS Web application specifies how to locate the ibiweb.cfg file. For the CGI/ISAPI implementation of the WebFOCUS Client, the cgi_bin/ibi_cgi alias locates ibiweb.cfg.

For a detailed description of the WebFOCUS Client configuration files and their roles in request processing, see WebFOCUS Client Core Processing Details and Managed Reporting Processing Details.
