Toolbars

Reference:

Toolbars represent the most commonly performed activities in the DMC. Buttons and icons are active or inactive depending on the activity being performed. These include a general toolbar for operations like opening and saving files, a process and data flow toolbar for operations like running and deleting flows, a specialized process flow toolbar for adding objects to the workspace, and a reports toolbar for operations like displaying data in a spreadsheet.

Reference: Data Management Console General Toolbar

The DMC General toolbar contains the following buttons:

Create New Server Object Button

Create New Server Object

Lets you create new flows, stored procedures, synonyms, specialized flows, or server connections, as well as configure adapters.

About Button

About

Opens the About dialogue box.

Toggle Full Screen Button

Toggle Full Screen

Displays the workspace in full screen mode.

Reference: Data/Process Flow Toolbar

The general toolbar in the Data Flow and Process Flow tabs has six buttons that apply to both design modes:

Flow Properties Button

Flow Properties

Displays the property tree for the flow.

Run Flow Button

Run Flow

Launches a drop-down menu for Submit, Run, Run with Options, and Impact Analysis.

Save As Button

Save As

Saves the current procedure under a specified file name.

Print Button

Print

Prints the flow.

View Last Log Button

View Last Log

Opens the last log for the flow in the workspace.

Arrange Flow Items Button

Arrange Flow Items

Rearranges the objects in the workspace.

Validate Flow Button

Validate Flow

Validates the flow.

Reference: Process Flow Toolbar Icons

In addition to the buttons on the general Data/Process Flow toolbar, a specific process flow toolbar contain icons that you can drag into the workspace, where they become objects in the process flow.

Creates a Stored Procedure object in the workspace.

Create Object Flow Icon

Creates a flow object in the workspace.

Create E-mail Icon

Creates an E-mail object in the workspace.

Create Schedule Icon

Creates a Schedule object in the workspace.

Create Parallel Group Icon

Creates a Parallel Group object in the workspace.

Create Wait Object Icon

Creates a Wait object in the workspace.

Set Variable Icon

Sets variables for the process flow.

Reference: Define Functions Toolbar Icons

The Define Functions toolbar becomes active when you define new functions. It contains the following buttons:

Saves the function.

New Parameter Button

New Parameter

Creates a new parameter for the function.

New Define Button

New Define

Creates a new define for the function.

Delete Button

Delete

Deletes the selected item.

Reference: Reports Toolbar

The Reports toolbar becomes active when you run a report. It contains the following buttons:

Report Button

Report

Displays the report in spreadsheet format.

Server Messages Button

Server messages

Displays the server messages generated by the report.

Refresh Button

Refresh

Reruns the report.

Next

Displays the next report in the output.

Note: This option it only available for output with multiple pages.

Copy as Text Button

Copy as text

Copies the selected report text to the clipboard.

Export to Excel Button

Export to Excel

Exports the report as an Excel spreadsheet.

Note: This option is available for Alpha and Original output only.

Print Button

Print

Prints the report.

Save As Button

Save As

Saves the report as a file.
