What are the Various Components of iWay Master Data Server?

In this section:

iWay MDS consists of two major components:

Each of these components has a unique set of requirements, as defined in the following sections.

x
Platform Independent Runtime Engine

The runtime engine is built on Java 1.5 and can be run on any platform that includes Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 1.5 or higher. Currently, most industry standard platforms vendors offer a suitable JRE.

In addition to the JRE requirements, the engine requires at least 1GB of RAM (2GB or more is recommended for more complex configurations) and a relational JDBC-compliant database for storing the master data repository. This database will store the relevant attributes of the records managed by MDS as well as the golden records that represent the master data. Sizing of the database depends on the complexity of the project. A general estimate is three to four times the size of the input data. In case of huge data loads through the batch interface, a large enough disk space should be available (approximately two to three times the size of the imported data).

x
MDS Manager

The graphical user interface is based on the Eclipse platform and is currently available only on Windows platforms. It is packaged with JRE 1.5, so no additional preinstalled packages are required. For optimum performance, a 2GHz Pentium-class processor (or equivalent) with 1GB of memory and a screen resolution of at least 1024x768 is recommended. The installed product requires about 400MB of disk space.
