Schemas in Integration Projects

In this section:

XML schemas are widely used within iWay Service Manager (iSM) applications. Schemas can be used as structure files for transforms or for validating process flow input. Schemas in an iWay Integration Project can be considered managed or unmanaged. A managed schema is one that has either been exported from an iSM server into a project or has been used in a process flow. A managed schema will take on the characteristics and form of an iWay Resource. An unmanaged resource is treated as any file in an Eclipse project and can be manipulated using whatever available plugins have been configured to handle the schema type.

Schema Sets

You can also configure schema sets in iIT, which consist of logically related schemas in a hierarchical structure. This allows you to import schemas within schemas. In iIT, a schema set has the same role as a standalone schema, and is lifecycle managed. For more information on creating and using schema sets in iIT, see Configuring and Using Schema Sets.
