This section describes how to create, edit, and delete users for iWay Data Profiler.
Creating a user defines the credentials (user name and password) for the user, which provides authentication to access and interact with iWay Data Profiler.
The Security Center page appears with the Manage Users tab selected, as shown in the following image.
Note: The left console pane contains a list of existing users and the icons to create, edit, and delete users.
The New User pane opens, as shown in the following image.
Note: It is recommended to create groups and roles prior to creating a user account so that the Group and Role drop-down lists are populated with values.
The following table lists and describes the available fields in the New User pane.

User Name* |
The logon name for the user. The User Name value must have a minimum of two characters and not exceed 30 characters, and must start and end with alphanumeric characters. It is not case-sensitive. Only alphanumeric and special characters, such as periods (.) and underscores (_) are allowed. |
Password* |
The password for the user. The Password value must have a minimum of two characters and a maximum of 20 characters. It is case-sensitive. Only alphanumeric and special characters, such as periods (.) and underscores (_) are allowed. |
Confirm Password* |
The re-entered password for verification purposes. The Password and Confirm Password values must match. |
First Name* |
The first name of the user. The First Name value must not exceed 50 characters. Only alphanumeric and special characters, such as periods (.) and underscores (_) are allowed. |
Last Name* |
The last name of the user. The Last Name value must not exceed 50 characters. Only alphanumeric and special characters, such as periods (.) and underscores (_) are allowed. |
Group* |
The defined group to which the user belongs. |
Role* |
The defined role of the user. |
Note: An asterisk (*) indicates a required field.

This section describes how to configure LDAP security in iWay Data Profiler (iDP). You can run iDP through LDAP using your LDAP server using the following techniques:

To create a user with LDAP credentials:

The New User pane is displayed, as shown in the following image.
The user name, last name, and first name of the selected LDAP user is displayed in the corresponding fields.
Note: It is recommended to create groups and roles prior to creating a user account so that the Group and Role drop-down lists are populated with values.
A message is displayed indicating that the user has been successfully created.
To create a user with LDAP credentials:
The Security Center page opens and the Manage Users tab is selected, as shown in the following image.

The user name, last name, and first name of the selected LDAP user is displayed in the corresponding fields.
Note: It is recommended to create groups, roles, and also map the LDAP role with the iDP role created prior to creating a user account, so that the drop-down lists for Group and Role, as well as the LDAP Role field, are populated with values.
A message is displayed indicating that the user has been successfully created.
Editing a user allows you to modify information for a specific user after it has been created.
To edit a LDAP user:
The Security Center page opens and the Manage Users tab is selected, as shown in the following image.
The Edit User pane opens, as shown in the following image.
Note: While editing a user, you are not allowed to reselect the LDAP user. User Name remains the same. You can only make changes to the Last Name, First Name, Group, and Role.
A message is displayed indicating that the user information has been updated.
You are returned to the Manage Users tab.
Editing a user allows you to modify information for a specific user after it has been created.
To edit a LDAP user:

Note: While editing a user, you are not allowed to reselect the LDAP user and Role. The User Name remains the same. You can only make changes to the Last Name, First Name, and Group.
A message is displayed indicating that the user information has been updated.
You are returned to the Manage Users tab.
Editing users allows you to make updates and modifications to users that have been defined in iWay Data Profiler.
Deleting a user removes their user account and the associated privileges they had from iWay Data Profiler.
To delete a user:
The Security Center page opens and the Manage Users tab is selected, as shown in the following image.
A confirmation message is displayed.
You can also click Cancel to cancel the delete operation.
