Procedure: How to Set a User-Defined Special Register to Disable Message Logging

To disable message auditing, logging and indexing at any point in processing:

  1. In the iSM console, select Registry, then Registers.
  2. Click Add.

    The register definition pane opens, as shown in the following image.

  3. Specify MM as the name and false as the value.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Provide a name for the register and click Finish.

    Note: This special register turns off message auditing, logging, and indexing for this listener only; it is not a system-wide setting.

    For more information on defining special registers, see the iWay Service Manager User's Guide.

  6. In the console, select Registry, and then Channels and find the channel for which you would like to disable message logging and indexing.

    One of the property columns for a channel is Regs, as shown in the following image.

  7. Click the link in the Regs column for the listener you want to modify.
  8. Click Add. The assign register pane opens, as shown in the following image.
  9. Select the previously defined MM register, and then click Finish.

Procedure: How to Disable Message Management Within an iWay Designer Process Flow

To disable message management at a specific point by using a Set object in iWay Designer:

  1. Open your process flow in iWay Designer.
  2. Drag a Set Object icon onto the iWay Designer workspace.
  3. Create a new special register called MM and set it to the value False.
  4. Save your process flow.

Procedure: How to Send a Batch Feed Using the iEI Batch Feed Utility

If you have logged messages that have not been sent to the search appliance for indexing, you can send a batch feed using the iEI Batch Feed Utility.

Note: This option is available only in the Adapter Manager console, not in the Service Manager console.

  1. In the iSM Console, open the Tools, iEI, iEI Batch Feed Utility menu.

  2. Set the parameters as listed in the following table.

    Search by the value of a given special register. You may select common special register names from the drop-down list, or you may enter a value in the text box. For example, to retrieve all messages processed by FILE listeners, set context key to protocol and context value to FILE.

    Send input documents, output (emit) documents, or both.

    If a large number of documents are being added to the feed, the processing may take several minutes. If the feed is successful, the console screen will display the number of documents sent to the search appliance, as shown in the following image.
