The standard outbound process converts an XML transaction to a SWIFT FIN message.

In a basic message flow, outbound processing consists of the following components and steps. For an illustration of the components available in the construction of a message flow, see Using a Channel to Construct a Message Flow. You will define the components in the configuration instructions in Sample Configuration for Outbound Processing: XML to SWIFT.

Inlet

• The listener picks up the input document.

Route

The following services will be defined using iWay Service Manager:

• SWIFT XML Transform service, which is used to transform SWIFT XML to SWIFT messages.
• Validation Report service, which is used to validate SWIFT messages against SWIFT defined standards.

Using iWay Designer, a process flow is created which incorporates these two services.

Outlet

• The preemitter obtains the message type and version from the XML-formatted SWIFT document, in order to select the appropriate transformation template name. It converts the XML-formatted SWIFT document to SWIFT FIN format.

  The preemitter ensures that the document is converted to a structurally correct SWIFT document. The transformation templates that are provided in the Ebix are used to transform the structure of the document.

• The SWIFT FIN message is passed to the next step in the integration process.
