Procedure: How to Install the Adapter for CA-IDMS/DB
  1. Using the standard at your site, allocate a partitioned data set (PDS) for your Access Files as ddname FOCIDMS. This library (or libraries) can be a mirror image of ddname MASTER and should have the same DCB parameters. Refer to the FOCUS z/OS Installation Guide for assistance in selecting DCB parameters. Two suggested names for this data set are:
    • prefix.ACCESS.DATA
    • prefix.FOCIDMS.DATA

Note: prefix.ACCESS.DATA and prefix.FOCIDMS.DATA are used interchangeably throughout this document.

The logical libraries have the traditional FOCUS library names. These libraries use the z/OS aliasing capability to point to the correct physical libraries, as follows.

    Alias

    Description

    Physical Library

    IDMS.LOAD

    Adapter load library

    HOME.LOAD

    IDMS.DATA

    Adapter maintenance library

    HOME.DATA

  2. A Master File library was created by the ISETUP facility. Use the instructions in the FOCUS z/OS Installation Guide to allocate your private version of a PDS to contain FOCUS descriptions of your IDMS data sources. Concatenate this library to the allocation for ddname MASTER.
  3. A FOCEXEC library was created by the ISETUP facility. Use the instructions in the FOCUS z/OS Installation Guide to allocate your private version of a PDS to contain FOCUS procedures. Concatenate this library to the allocation for ddname FOCEXEC.
