Creating Disks and Defining Access

Create any disks and define any access necessary for the SmartMode files, as described in the following table:

Type of Files

Disk and Access Information

Files that were unloaded when FOCUS and the FOCUS SU and HLI facilities were installed.

These files may be on the FOCUS production disk at your site. The SmartMode system administrator and all applications being monitored by SmartMode must have read-only access.

Files created during SmartMode installation (other than GKSINK ERRORS).

If you follow the instructions in How to Execute the SMINSTAL FOCEXEC, SMINSTAL will place these files by default on the sink's A disk, making them read- and write-accessible. If you move the FOCUS files, you must ensure that the sink machine has read-write access to the new disk location. Make sure you move the Master Files to the FOCUS production disk or a disk that is accessed by the SmartMode admin user.

GKTABLE SMARTLIB

The system administrator must have read/write access, but users being monitored by SmartMode must have read-only access.

Copying Files From the Maintenance Disk to the Production Disk

At the VM Ready prompt, execute the COPYSA EXEC:

EX COPYSA

This EXEC will copy the SmartMode files, FOCEXECs, MASTERs, EXECs, and FMUs from the maintenance disk to the production disk. When the copying is complete, you can proceed with the installation steps detailed in the following section.
