Installing the FOCUS Menu

The FOCUS Menu is a convenient way to access FOCUS facilities using windows. A few installation steps are required to enable the menu.

  1. Access the FOCUS maintenance disk as A and the FOCUS production disk R/W as C.
  2. Execute the COPYSHL EXEC:
    EXEC COPYSHL
  3. To enable the FOCUS Menu, edit the file SHELPROF FOCEXEC. This file resides on the production disk, but it may be located on any disk.

    The FOCEXEC contains the following commands:

    -* This FOCEXEC will be executed only after PROFILE FOCEXEC
    -* execution has been completed.
    -* INCLUDE FMMAIN

    Remove the comment from the line with the INCLUDE command:

    -* This FOCEXEC will be executed only after PROFILE FOCEXEC
    -* execution has been completed.
    -INCLUDE FMMAIN
  4. Test the FOCUS Menu by entering FOCUS by executing the CMS EXEC named FOCUS. The FOCUS Menu will display:

    The cursor should be positioned next to the first option on the menu, Next.

    You can return to the CMS command level by pressing PF3 to go to the Quit Menu.

    Move the cursor next to the last option on the menu, Quit FOCUS, and press Enter.

  5. Continue the CMS FOCUS installation with Basic Installation beginning with Define FOCUS Production and Maintenance Disks.
