The following are general upgrade considerations and product changes for installing and configuring WebFOCUS:
During an upgrade, the ApplicationPreferences.xml and SchedulePreferences.xml files in WebFOCUS77/config/caster are saved.
When the upgrade finishes, the original preferences files are restored and the files created during the upgrade are renamed Application/SchedulePreferences_new.xml.
To match the interface to a new installation, rename ApplicationPreferences.xml and SchedulePreferences.xml as ApplicationPreferences_old.xml and SchedulePreferences_old.xml.
Then rename ApplicationPreferences_new.xml and SchedulePreferences_new.xml as ApplicationPreferences.xml and SchedulePreferences.xml.
The interface should now look and behavior like a new installation.
You can change the Skin Name and the Skin Text Color from the WebFOCUS Administration Console by selecting Client Settings, OLAP, and then Olap Skins.
As of Version 7 Release 7, on Windows, if you uninstall WebFOCUS, the entire WebFOCUS directory will be uninstalled. This means that any non-standard WebFOCUS files will be removed. For example, if you have backed up files under the WebFOCUS directory, you should move them before running an uninstall. Otherwise, they will be deleted. This includes the basedir file and all files under the WebFOCUS directory.

Applications that use cgipath.js to obtain the value of the ReportCaster specific context root will not be affected by this change. Applications that contain a hard-coded reference to rcaster or a ReportCaster specific context root will be affected.
If you have developed applications with URLs that contain rcaster or a custom ReportCaster context root value specified during the WebFOCUS Client and ReportCaster installation, then see the following advisory for options to accommodate this change:

When you install the Distribution Server separately (that is, at a later time or on a different machine than the WebFOCUS installation), the installation process enables Trusted MR Sign-On, but does not populate the Trusted key value in the ReportCaster configuration file. In this case, the Distribution Server will start in console mode and an appropriate message is provided in the Scheduler log file.
After installing the Distribution Server, you must set the Trusted key value, as follows:
A message appears at the top of the Configuration pane, stating that the Trusted key is blank, as shown in the following image.
