The following are upgrade considerations and product
changes for Report Painter:
As of Version 7
Release 7.03, the POSITION option for Headings and Footings has
been restored in Report Painter for PDF, PS, and DHTML report formats.
As of Version 7 Release
7.02, there is a change in behavior when you select Report
Painter from the Create with drop-down
list to create a new procedure. If you create a procedure using
Report Painter, the procedure reopens in Report Painter.
In Versions
prior to 7.7.02, the procedure reopened in Procedure Viewer and Report
Painter displayed on top of the Procedure Viewer.
As of Version 7 Release
7.02, by default, headings and footings are not added to the canvas
and PAGE-NUM is set to NOLEAD. This is to avoid white space at the
top of the report when no heading or footing exists.
As of Version 7 Release
7.02, you cannot use the BY TOTAL and Plus Others options together.
As of Version 7 Release
7, the Fields tab in the Object Inspector of Report Painter displays
Master File Computed fields by default. The right-click context
menu option, Display Master File Computes in Master File Computes
Folder has been removed. Additionally, the Field List Option, Display
Computes in Computes Folder, has been removed from the Reporting
tab of the Developer Studio Options dialog box.
As of Version 7 Release
7, a Compute icon has been added to the Report Painter Setup toolbar.
This shortcut enables you to access the Report Options dialog box
at the Computes tab, where you can create a temporary field based
on existing information in the data source.
As of Version 7 Release
7, a Totals button has been added to the Report Painter Headings
and Footings toolbar. This shortcut adds a total to all columns
and rows in the Report Painter window. If a column or row total
already exists, clicking Total adds the total type that is missing.
If both a column and row total already exist, the Totals options is
grayed out.
