The API, in conjunction with the connector, supports full code page/character set translation, including Double Byte Character Set (DBCS) support. In addition, the API supports DBCS identifiers (column names) and Continental Decimal Notation (comma-delimited). NLS can be specified in the communication configuration file (ODIN.CFG).
