The Managed Reporting Administration interface can be accessed from the link on the WebFOCUS Welcome page (Managed Reporting Administration), the Developer Studio toolbar (except for the Managed Reporting Developer for Windows edition), and the toolbar in the Managed Reporting Domain Builder applet.

You can also access the interface directly from your Web browser by entering the following URL:

http://hostname[:port]/ibi_apps/mradmin-login

where:

hostname[:port]

Is the name of the Web server and optional port number (specified only if you are not using the default port number) where the WebFOCUS Web application in the desired environment is deployed.

Depending on the Managed Reporting security settings for your site, you may be prompted for your Managed Reporting credentials. The logon page is bypassed when coming from the toolbar link in Domain Builder, and from the toolbar in Developer Studio when Developer Studio has your valid Managed Reporting credentials.

At the top of the interface, a series of tabs take you to pages where you can perform various tasks. Each page has a list pane on the left and a detail pane on the right, as shown in the following image.

The tabs that appear, and your capabilities on each of the pages, depend on your role and privileges:

• Managed Reporting Administrators have full access to each of the four tabs, which are Groups, Users, Roles, and Domains.
• MR Security Object Managers have limited access to the Groups, Users, Roles, and Domains tabs. These have the capabilities to create and manage groups, users, roles, and domains, but are not authorized to manage access to Managed Reporting application content or the tasks a user is allowed to perform.
• MR Group Authorization Managers have limited access to the Groups, Users, and Domains tabs, where they can manage users and domains within the groups they are authorized to administer, but are not authorized to create or delete groups, users, roles and domains.
• Users with Group Administration privileges have limited access to the Groups, Users, and Domains tabs, where they can manage groups that they are authorized to administer.
• Developers who are Group Administrators and have Data Server privileges have limited access to the Groups, Users, and Domains tabs. The Groups tab lists those groups that the Developer administers, and the Domains tab lists those domains assigned to the Developer.
• Developers with Data Server privileges have limited access to the Domains tab to allow them to edit the properties of the domains (Server and Application Path) that they are authorized to manage.
