Magnify is an enterprise search solution that allows you to search your structured and unstructured business content across multiple data sources and systems. The Magnify search page is an easy-to-use, interactive user interface that dynamically categorizes search results, allows you to sort results based on several criteria, and includes an option to present results in a tabular format. It can also offer you access to real-time data, for instance, by including links to WebFOCUS reports in the search results.

Magnify also offers a security feature that controls who has access to specific enterprise information. This ensures that private or sensitive information is protected from public view. The Magnify Developer configures security according to your enterprise requirements and rules. The Magnify search page offers options to view both public and secure information. As an end user, the process of filtering secure information is transparent, and your search results only present the information that you have permission to access.

To help focus your search, Magnify can offer a selection of specific groupings of data, called collections. For example, collections can consist of departments in an enterprise (Sales, Inventory, and so on) or product categories (dresses, shirts, coats, and so on).

A Magnify style sheet, as implemented by the Magnify Administrator, determines the look and feel of your search page, such as, text and logo displays, and positioning of the search query field and search results. The examples shown in this document use the default Magnify style sheet provided with Magnify. Your Magnify search page may have a different look and may not include all of the elements discussed here.
