Using the Slicers Tab in InfoAssist Video

Hello, this video walks you through the Slicers tab. Now you can use the slicers tab to filter reports and charts without saving explicit selection clauses to the procedure.

Highlight Slicers Tab

You can create a slicer in one of two ways. You can either select a field from the Data Panel and drag it onto the Drag Fields Here to Create Slicers text or you can right-click a field in the Data Panel, select Slicers and then select New Group.

Highlight Drag Fields Here options

You can also add hierarchies as a slicer group. You can either select the hierarchy from the data pane and drag it onto an existing slicer group. This adds the hierarchy as a new group instead of part of an existing group. Or you can create a new group and just drag it over from the data panel into the blank slicer group.

Drag a hierarchy to the slicer ribbon.

You can change the relationship operator of the slicer by clicking the Operators button on the slicer you wish to change. A drop-down menu appears allowing you to change the operator.

Highlight Operators button.

When you have a slicer established, click the Edit Slicers button, which opens the Edit Slicers dialog box. In the general section, you can show or hide the Auto Update Preview and Options groups.
