Using the Series Tab in InfoAssist

Hello, this video will walk you through the functions of the Series tab, which is available only when you are working with charts in InfoAssist.

You can use the Series tab to customize your data charts.

Highlight the entire Series tab.

Highlight or point to the Select, Properties, Line, and Pie groups as each is read off.

The Select group provides a drop-down menu where you can select a specific field of measure. You can apply one or more options to your chart, or use the default selection, All Series to modify the entire chart.

In the Properties group, the data labels options allows you to add or remove data labels

While the Data Position drop down, allows you to choose where you would like to place the labels on your chart.

Highlight the entire Properties group.

Point to each option as it is read off.

When you select a series, The Type option allows you to choose the type of that series.

Select Series 0

Highlight the Type drop-down menu.

Select the Line Chart and then area chart

Select Trendline to determine what type of line you would like to add to your chart to show relationships between the data.

Highlight the Trendline drop-down menu.

Select Linear Exponential trendline

The Equation option displays the associated mathematical equation for the selected trendline on the chart.

Highlight the Equation option.

Select the Equation option.

In the Line group, select Smooth Line to smooth the appearance of lines on the chart

Highlight the Line Group.

Click the Smooth Line option.

Select the Marker option to view the drop-down list that modifies the display of the data and legend markers on your line and scatter charts.

Highlight the Marker drop-down.

The Pie Group appears only when using pie charts and provides the Expand and Hide options to modify slices of a pie chart.

Highlight the Format Tab and select Pie Chart and return to the Series Tab.

Click Expand.
