Gettin Started in InfoAssist Video Part 1

This video shows a quick walkthrough of the InfoAssist Application Window.

This is the InfoAssist button, which opens the Application Main Menu and displays buttons for commonly used functions, such as opening a report and publishing. It also contains the Recent Items section.

The Recent Items section lists recent reports, documents, and charts, and items that have been pinned to the menu.                Start at the application window.

Highlight the InfoAssist button.

The Quick Access toolbar is always visible and provides access to the most commonly used functions, like running a report and saving a report.        Highlight and label the Quick Access toolbar.

The Ribbon organizes the features of InfoAssist in a logical fashion, so that the features are easier to find, using as few clicks as possible.

Above the Ribbon are the Ribbon tabs. The ribbon tabs allow you to switch to different parts of the ribbon.        Highlight and label the ribbon.

The Resources panel displays the Data panel in the upper half of the panel and the Query Design panel in the lower half, by default.

The Data panel shows all the fields from the selected data source.

The Query Design panel shows the fields that make up a report. The Filter area shows any filters that have been created for the selected report. 

The Query area contains the sum, by, and across field buckets for reports, and Sum, x-axis, and legend field buckets for charts.  Highlight the Data panel.

As you create or modify a report, the Results panel displays the Layout Canvas in the default Live Preview or in the Query Design Pane when you select the Query Design View.    Highlight and label the Live Preview area.

Show the Query view.

When you execute a report, the output window appears. If the output window is closed, or if there is no report to preview, the results panel is blank.

Run a report.

You can use the Reports button on the status bar to select from a list of open reports. You can use the Output Format button to choose an output type. You can use the Output Target button to select the output destination.
