Using Templates in the HTML Composer

The HTML Composer offers templates that provide layouts and themes for HTML pages.

You can use templates to choose from a number of layouts and themes to assist in the creation of HTML pages. Templates provide report and chart frames, a form for controls, text boxes, and other objects arranged in a fixed layout that simplifies the design process. By using templates, styling is predefined for you so that you only have to provide information for the objects to create an HTML page that is ready to use.

When you create a new HTML page, the Template Selector opens and provides options for different layouts and themes, as shown in the following image.

From the Template Selector, you can select a layout, a color scheme, and an advanced or simple template with or without tabs. Designing an HTML page in Template mode automates the placement of controls and reports, automatically resizes panels to fit additional frames, and enables the quick creation of tabbed report sets. For more information on templates, see Using Templates in the HTML Composer in the Designing a User Interface for a Web Application With the HTML Composer manual.
