VARCHAR2 data type. To extend the benefits
of the Oracle VARCHAR2 data type to more users, the VARCHAR default
setting has changed to ON, and the ORACHAR default setting has changed
to FIX.
If you are using applications and/or metadata from a server
release prior to 7.1.3, you may want to restore the previous default
setting in a profile or procedure.
Trailing Blanks. The Oracle Adapter now provides complete
control over the number of trailing blanks that are passed to the
DBMS. Since the Oracle VARCHAR native comparison behavior is sensitive
to trailing blanks, the adapter now provides a mechanism for supplying
a specific number of trailing blanks.
