You can follow the standard installation procedure, and when the procedure is completed, your DBA needs to create a database and connection for your server. For SQL Server and MySQL, the PMF installer automatically creates the database schema and all basic data structures required to run PMF. You only need to follow these instructions if you need additional PMF databases for testing or QA.

Procedure: How to Create a Database and Connection

  1. Using the SQL DDLs provided by Information Builders for your RDBMS, create the structure of a production database.
  2. In the WebFOCUS Server Console, create a connection named pmf_system, or modify an existing connection as needed.
  3. Point the pmf_system adapter connection to the new database.
  4. Go to the verification procedure described in Verifying an Installation or Upgrade.
