PMF provides multiple ways to create a measure. You can use any of the following methods, depending on your needs:

• If you are not sure which measures to create, use the New Measure Wizard to select a new measure from one of over 350 standard metric templates that ship with PMF. Note that the New Measure Wizard can only be used to create user-entered measures, which you can easily change to a loaded measure anytime in the future.
• If you want to set up sophisticated user-entered measures with minimal effort, use the New Measure Wizard, which includes a wide variety of templates for many areas of business.

  Tip: If you are having trouble figuring out where a particular template is located, look in the non-categorized list that is available when you do not select a category.

• If you want to design measures that will be loaded from external data, you can start by designing the measure in the New Measure Wizard, and then change to a loaded measure later. An advantage of starting with the New Measure Wizard is that many settings used for the measure, such as direction, aggregation method, and unit of measure, are imported automatically.
