J.D. Edwards World provides interoperability by means of database tables. Triggers placed on tables place key information on the iWay JDE custom table.

A channel retrieves this key information based on the iway_transaction key file, which invokes the transform file to generate an SQL statement. The adapter then makes the appropriate SQL call(s) to retrieve data from the J.D. Edwards World system.
