A hierarchy is an arrangement in which nodes can be organized relative to one another. A hierarchy can be seen as a mathematical graph where the nodes are vertices and the relationships are edges. For the purposes of the iWay Hierarchy Manager plugin, hierarchies are used to impose structured data on an externally stored data set.
