This section lists and describes the current constraints
and limitations for the iWay Log Event Adapter for MS SQL.
DDL (Data Definition Language) operations (for example,
schema changes or alter statements) are not captured and replicated.
The following data types are not supported for data capture:
Simple large objects (TEXT and BYTE data types).
User-defined data types.
Collection data types (SET, MULTISET, LIST, and ROW data types).
The iWay Log Event Adapter for MS SQL does not work on 64-bit
machines. As a workaround, you must install the ApexSQL Log API
server-side components and JDK under C:\Program Files (x86), so
that the Log Event Adapter can work on 32-bit machines.
Currently, only one configuration can be configured to perform
CDC operations on one SQL Server.
If you are monitoring multiple databases on an SQL server, then
connect with a single user who has access to multiple database.
The ApexSQL Log API can only provide data as that data is changing.
It does not provide an initial snapshot of the contents of a table.
If the target table needs to be populated, it has to be loaded externally
before any CDC operations can begin.
