Applications are specifically designed to be aggregated in the context of a composite page. They usually include all, but are not limited to, the gauges and charts which report statistics for the events related to key business objectives. The gauges and charts in the portlet should be organized efficiently so that problems can be inferred, which may affect key business objectives.

The Century Cellular Corporation (CCC) demo application allows the monitoring of mobile phone sales transactions. The application is designed to monitor various information regarding the sale transactions, including the sales of various phone models by affiliate or time. The demo application was created using standard iWay Service Manager components and new iWay Enable facilities. It consists of various gauges and charts that are used to capture business data.

In the CCC demo application, a File channel (carphone-load) is used to listen for batched sales transactions in an incoming directory. As the transactions are received, they are picked up and passed along to a process flow (ccc.carphone), which is assigned to the channel as a route. The process flow processes the transactions and contains several taps to allow real-time event data capture. The captured event data is then used as a feed for the Web application.
