About the iWay Repository

The iWay repository is a data store that will hold the metadata and process information associated with your Designer projects. When you install the iWay Server, a repository is also created. Initially, this repository contains the iWay sample project and sample process flows. The Designer connects to iWay repositories, providing browse, read, and write access to them in order to support process flow development.

Every iWay 6.01 SM server has a repository co‑located with it, and the Designer can be configured to connect to one or more of these repositories. For example, if you are working with many server instances or server platforms, you can configure one repository for each, resulting in multiple repository icons in your Designer project navigation pane. We do not recommend that you define two or more repositories that refer to the same server from one Designer tool because this produces unexpected results. If you want to organize your process flows for a given iWay Server into groups, you should create multiple projects within that server’s repository.

Once you have finished building a process flow, you can make it available for run‑time use on the server by publishing it. The publishing procedure is detailed in Creating Process Flows.
