TED is a general-purpose text editor you can use to create or edit files while in FOCUS. These topics describe the four TED editing environments and their use for creating and modifying Master Files, requests, FOCEXECs, CRTFORMs, and non-FOCUS data sources. For information on creating and maintaining FOCUS data sources, refer to the Maintaining Databases manual. For users familiar with mainframe editors, TED is similar to IBM's ISPF editor that runs under TSO. While that editor can also be used from within FOCUS, TED provides important advantages:
Note: TED supports editing of files with LRECL up to 4096. |
