Moving Segment Instances

Use the MOVE subcommand to move a segment instance and all of its descendants from one parent segment to another. The operation requires several steps:

  1. Locate the record to be moved and mark it with the MARK statement (see MARK Command).
  2. Move the current position to the new parent record (see LOCATE Command and TLOCATE Command).
  3. Issue the MOVE subcommand indicating the field name that identifies the segment instance to be moved.

MOVE Command describes how the segment is integrated into the database structure.
