This manual describes how to use the Simultaneous Usage facility (SU) in the CMS operating environment both from FOCUS and from the Host Language Interface (HLI ). SU enables multiple users to read and maintain the same FOCUS or XFOCUS database using FOCUS or another programming language (through HLI). This manual is intended for a user or administrator who is familiar with CMS and FOCUS (especially the MODIFY and Maintain commands) or HLI.

Separates mutually exclusive choices in syntax. Type one of them, not the symbol.

Indicates that you can enter a parameter multiple times. Type only the parameter, not the ellipsis (...).
