The installed adapter can be used with more than one Oracle database, provided the databases share a common Oracle USER disk. They will, by definition, be running the same version of Oracle. This same USER disk must be used during installation of the adapter and in the run-time environment.
Installing the adapter for more than one version of Oracle requires one FOCUS production disk for each version of Oracle. Each version of Oracle will have a separate USER disk. Run GENFORA once, following the standard adapter installation, for each FOCUS production disk/Oracle USER disk pairing. The same FOCUS maintenance disk may be used each time. The run-time environment must contain links to the correct FOCUS production and Oracle USER disks.
To install the adapter for more than one version of FOCUS requires separate FOCUS production and maintenance disks for each FOCUS version. Run GENFORA once for each FOCUS version. Again, configure the run-time environment by linking to the applicable FOCUS production disk and Oracle USER disk.
