Corrections to Reported Problems

When you encounter problems that require corrections to FOCUS rather than to your own procedures, those corrections will become part of a future release. In certain situations, you receive corrections to your problems as soon as they become available, regardless of the next scheduled release. Such corrections are called hotfixes and are identified by unique HF numbers.

You receive individual hotfixes only in response to specific problems that you report yourself. Each hotfix you receive will contain only the fixes you need, accumulated for your release and site and delivered as complete load modules. (Normally, solutions to problems reported by other users will reach your installation through the next service pack or release.) Documentation accompanying each hotfix or service pack identifies problems corrected, tells how to apply the hotfix or service pack, and states the release affected.

Note: Never apply a Hotfix to a release other than the indicated release. Doing so will damage the copy of FOCUS that you are trying to correct.

Each hotfix you receive will contain all of the hotfixes you already received.
