You may have loaded a new FOCUS Release cartridge onto a maintenance disk that contains a previous FOCUS release. |
Action: |
Define a new maintenance disk and reinstall. Or, erase all the old files from the maintenance disk USING the CMS format command, and reinstall. |
Problem: |
GENFS ABORTS with DMSLIO109S error. |
Cause: |
Virtual storage exceeded. |
Action: |
Issue the command CP DEFINE STORAGE for a larger virtual storage size and re-IPL. |
Problem: |
After successful GENFS, FOCUS aborts with an addressing exception 141T in routine FOCMAIN and you are returned to CMS. |
Cause: |
Your FOCUS DLL or NSS is overlaying another active NSS. |
Action: |

Problem: |
GENFS prompts for the address of the FOCUS NSS. |
Cause: |
The IBIDFSEG EXEC is missing or does not specify the NSS that you are attempting to install. |
Action: |
Check that the IBIDFSEG EXEC is available and that it includes the appropriate NSS. |
Problem: |
GENFS gives the message STORAGE IN USE. |
Cause: |
CMS is using storage where the segment is to be loaded. |
Action: |
Define more storage and IPL CMS. FOCUS should always be installed from a newly IPL'ed virtual machine. |
Problem: |
GENFS indicates the DLL segment failed to load properly. |
Action: |
Redefine the DLL segment using values found in IBIDFSEG. If DLLSEG fails, this segment is purged. Issue the following commands: IPL CMS ACCESS (NOPROF Access the disk with FOCLIB LOADLIB EXEC GENLLSEG dllname Note: FOCUS will not execute without DLLSEG. User storage may need to be increased. |
