Install the FOCUS Site Code

The site code is a unique identifying alphanumeric value assigned by Information Builders to each site where FOCUS is installed. This code, of the form nnnnn.nn, is displayed in the FOCUS release signature whenever FOCUS is first entered, and also by the ? RELEASE command. You need to know your site code whenever you call with any question regarding FOCUS service or maintenance. It is the key to all our service and maintenance records.

The site code must be embedded into FOCUS itself, at installation time.

The site code of your installation is shown on the packing list that accompanied your installation package. If you do not know your site code, you can always obtain it by calling Customer Support Services in New York, at (800) 736-6130.

Using the CMS editor, create a new file on your FOCUS maintenance disk named FOCSITE CODE. The record format must be F and the record length must be 80.

Enter your site code as the first eight characters of the first and only record of this file. Do not enter any other characters on the record.
